When your little grey Ferguson starts wandering all over the road or won’t track straight in the furrow, worn track rod ends are usually the culprit. These classic TEF20 and TVO20 tractors are precision machines at heart, but loose steering makes them frustrating to operate and potentially dangerous on slopes or near ditches. This replacement track rod end restores the tight, responsive steering Harry Ferguson designed into these legendary tractors.

What You’re Getting

  • Right-hand straight thread design that fits properly in the front axle steering arm
  • Built-in grease nipple lets you maintain the joint with regular lubrication
  • 88.9mm overall length maintains proper steering geometry for accurate tracking
  • Heavy-duty forged construction handles field stress and side loads
  • Direct replacement that fits like the original – no modifications needed

Built for Classic Ferguson Work

These TEF20 diesel and TVO20 paraffin tractors represent some of the best engineering of the 1940s and 50s. Your Ferguson might be cultivating gardens, mowing roadsides, running a small loader, or serving parade duty, but precise steering is essential for all of it. The straight thread design was engineered specifically for these models and provides secure mounting that won’t work loose under load.

Made to Last

This track rod end matches the quality standards Ferguson demanded in his original design. The forged steel construction resists bending under heavy steering loads, while the precision ball joint maintains tight tolerances through years of use. The grease nipple is positioned for easy access even with mudguards fitted, making regular maintenance simple.

Installation Notes

Before removing the old end, measure its position or count the visible threads so you can set the new one close to the same spot. Clean the threads thoroughly – these 70-year-old tractors often have decades of rust buildup. The straight thread design requires the correct matching nut, not the wedging action of a tapered fitting. After installation, pump fresh grease through the nipple until clean grease comes out, then adjust your toe-in to 1/8 to 3/16 inch. Grease monthly during use to keep the joint moving freely.
