Nothing ruins a productive day in the field quite like a blown exhaust silencer. When your 675 or 690 starts roaring like a freight train and drowning out everything else, you know it’s time for a replacement. This vertical exhaust silencer brings back the civilized sound levels these Massey 600 series tractors had when they rolled off the lot, letting you actually think while you work instead of dealing with that ear-splitting racket.
What You’re Getting
- Premium vitreous enamel coating that laughs off heat and corrosion like paint never could
- Vertical design that keeps hot exhaust gases away from you and your equipment
- Heavy-duty steel construction built to handle the punishment of serious farm work
- Direct replacement that bolts right up with no modifications or adapters needed
- Proper internal baffling that reduces noise without choking your engine
Built for Real Farm Work
Your 675 and 690 tractors are serious workhorses – the 675 pushing 60 PTO horsepower and the 690 delivering 65 PTO horsepower with 80 at the engine. These machines handle everything from heavy tillage and cultivation to running big mowers and balers across extensive acreage. They’re the kind of tractors that rack up thousands of hours doing the heavy lifting on medium to large operations, and they need exhaust components that can keep up with that kind of punishment.
Made to Last
That vitreous enamel finish isn’t just for looks – it’s like wrapping your exhaust in glass armor. While regular painted silencers rust through from the inside out after a few seasons of heat cycling and moisture, this enamel coating keeps doing its job year after year. The finish handles the extreme temperatures and chemical exposure that come with agricultural work, maintaining its protective properties even when things get hot and dirty.
Installation Notes
This silencer fits 600 series tractors built between 1983-1986. Before you start, soak those old exhaust bolts with penetrating oil – they’ve been cooking in heat for years and don’t like to come loose easily. Check your exhaust pipe condition while the old silencer is off, and use new gaskets to prevent leaks that’ll make all your work pointless.
